Trendy Speech Bubbles!

Good day everyone!  Today I am sharing my latest layout featuring a trend that seems to be growing in popularity: speech bubbles!  It seems like they are showing up more and more scrapbooking goods.  They are everywhere from patterned papers to chipboard pieces to cut files.  They are very fun and were perfect for a layout about my smartphone-loving sister!   I quickly reached for Pink Paislee's Switchboard collection with all it's "chatworthy" icons and pretty colors!  It's expected in stores very soon.

The large speech bubble I used for the background was cut out using my Cameo and the Chat Bubbles cutting files from Pink Paislee.  Making this layout was actually pretty easy... For the following part I simply fussy cut out a number of speech bubbles from patterned paper.

Oh yes, my sister certainly does have a love for her smartphone!  I just love all of the cute icons in this collection!

I used a couple die cuts from the ephemera pack to illustrate that, yes, she is on her smartphone 24/7.  (Sorry sis, but it's true!) You will definitely love the Switchboard collection as much as I do!

Thanks for stopping in!  Switchboard will be in stores very soon so keep your eyes peeled for it!
Have a great day!
Hugs, Tegan

A layout and a cupcake!

Good day everyone!  Today I am sharing a 2 different projects using 2 different Paper Bakery kits.  The first project is a spring layout using the fabulous February Paper Bakery Scrapbook kit! I absolutely love the die cut files that you get if you are a monthly subscriber to the kits.  I added a bit
of my own white cardstock because I am addicted to white cardstock lately!  I used the "spring" cut file for the title.  And I used multiple "bloom" cuts to make very pretty frame.

I used the EXCLUSIVE butterfly stencil to strategically place butterflies around my layout using paint and ink.  I added a smidge of my own embroidery floss to add bodies to my butterflies.

And more blooms and butterflies!

And now on to the BRAND NEW MARCH KITS!!  I used the Paper Bakery Daylight Savings Scrapbook Kit to make this cupcake favor box.  And I love the way it turned out!
I did add a few embellishments from the Paper Bakery shop to get this finished look. I used the doily and heart stamp, the resin bow, and the sequins are from their shop.  You can hop over to their blog for the links to these exact items!
Thanks so much for stopping in!  I hope I have inspired you and not just made you hungry for cupcakes!
Have a great day everyone!

Happy Wall Decor

Good day everyone!   Today I am very happy to share my latest creation using the fabulously cute Hello Sunshine by Pink Paislee!   It is happy and fun and bright- perfect to chase away my winter blues.  And it was so easy to work with!!  Since I am ready for spring, I decided to make a wall hanging so I could showcase this wonderful collection!  I started with an inexpensive wooden craft frame from Michaels and I love the end result! Take a look!

The die cuts from the ephemera pack are certainly cute on their own, but I wanted to add a little bit of dimension.  So I added a couple stitches of embroidery floss and buttons throughout the project.  Just look how cute that rainbow is!

I love that the ephemera pack contains some vellum elements too (the tag)!  And here again I simply added a couple stitches and a chipboard heart to the umbrella.

I finished up the bottom of the frame with a couple more stitches and a row of buttons!

Please hop on over to the Pink Paislee blog if you would like more detailed instructions on how I made this project.  I believe Hello Sunshine is due in stores this month!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  I appreciate it!  And have a great day!

Layout about my sweet niece!

Hello and good day!  I am happy to show off my latest layout! It features the adorable Carta Bella Paper Baby Mine Girl collection AND includes a picture of my sweet new niece!  I loved the Baby Mine collection when I first saw it and new it would be perfect for pictures of the new baby in our family.  And I just know you will love Baby Mine as much as I do!

I first cut out some of the cute journaling cards and used those as the base of my design.  I then printed my picture out to be about the same size as the cards.  I rounded the corners to match as the cards as well.   I embellished the page with a few of the chipboard stickers, which I LOVE by the way!

I used a combination of brads and chipboard pieces for most of the title and I love the way it turned out!  I used my Silhoutte Cameo to cut out the 'GIRL' portion of the titled using the Benguiat Bk BT font.  Notice I even used a Baby Mine brad to dot the 'I' in GIRL!  I really enjoy working with this collection.  I love that the color palette is mostly soft pastels with a few pops of brighter green thrown in...  so cool!

This bow patterned paper (the B side of Baby Girl Dots) is my favorite paper of the collection!  The bows are just perfect cute little bows in perfect little bow colors!  In this photo, I want to show you how I used the pattern of the bows as a guide to trim a scalloped border.  And I used the pattern of the blue paper to trim a scalloped border too!

I hope I have inspired you to scrap some of those baby pictures!  Thanks for joining me and have a great day!
