Pure Bliss!

Good morning everyone!   I am excited to show off this project I made with the GCD Studios brand new Pure Bliss Collection.  I love that the color palette is so soft and sweet.  For my sister-in-law's baby shower a couple years back we made baby shoe party favors out of paper.  I just loved making those cute little things and I thought they would be so adorable made with the Pure Bliss collection.  And I was right-just take a look!  I made this as a table decoration, but you could also use it as a gift box!

I found a number of free baby shoe template's online.
You can find the one that I used by clicking here.
The boxes are 2 round paper mache boxes I recently picked up at my local craft store.
1) First paint the boxes with a soft pink acrylic craft paint. Let them dry.
2)  Measure the height of each box and the length around the outside of each box.
3)  Cut strips of scrap paper or cardstock that are the same measurements as the height and length around the box.
4)  Cut pieces of the Pure Bliss paper that are the height of each box and 3" wide.  Adhere these pieces side by side covering the entire strip.  Place the adhesive in the middle of the squares, so that when we run these pieces through the sewing machine, your needle won't get sticky.
5)  Run the paper "seams" through a sewing machine using a zig-zag stitch.

6)  Adhere this completed strip around each paper mache box.
7) Decorate the box as shown.

Thanks for stopping by today. And as always, have a great day!

hello.

Good Tuesday morning everyone!  Today I would like to share a fun little card I made using The Paper Bakery's February Kit Days of the Week!  The kit is awesome~ packed with brand new Glitz and My Minds Eye!   And it also includes fabulous printables~ I used 2 of them on the card here!

I took a yellow Glitz "Whatnot" and trimmed out the word "hello" with a craft knife and then layered it over washi tape strips.  Here's how you can get the look too!

1) Start by layering strips of washi tape onto white cardstock.

2) Using a craft knife, cut out a shape or words from your die cut, or in this example, patterned paper.

3) For this example I trimmed out a rectangle.

4) Layer the cutout over the washi tape strips for a fun layered look!

And a close up!

Here are the GREAT printables that come in the kit!!  You can print them over and over again~ I printed mine out 3 times! Aren't they GREAT!?!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Tuesday everyone!

Something Special

Hi!  I am especially excited to share this next project with all of you.  Why you ask?  Because it is just so much fun!  I used the brand new Special Delivery Collection by GCD Studios and I must say I am loving this collection!  It is so hip, fun, and modern!  I love making party décor and this collection is perfect for parties!  I invite you to take a look!
And up close~
I used the 3D flower pinwheel shape from the Silhouette store and my Cameo to cut out the pinwheels.

I even decorated a metal pail that I found on clearance.
I hope I have inspired you today!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

This kit makes me happy!

Happy Tuesday!  Today I am excitedly sharing a layout I created using The Paper Bakery's new February kit!  This kit makes me happy because it is filled with color and includes some of the BRAND NEW Glitz Designs Color Me Happy line!    Using a couple of the Glitz Whatnots makes putting this layout together fast and fun!

I trimmed apart the Whatnot with the saying on it and stitched it back together for a fun effect!

I used the fabulous My Minds Eye washi tape that is included to make a border around the page.

And I trimmed some of the chevrons from the patterned paper and
made a design using the included sequins!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Good morning!  Today I am thrilled to share that I was asked to be a guest designer for American Crafts!  It was a dream come true~ working with all of their great products was simply fabulous!!
This week on American Crafts' blog is Inspired by Ads Week and you don't want to miss it!

#1
I love the clean lines in this first ad and wanted to recreate the block feel.

#2
I loved the rainbow effect in this second ad!

#3
This next ad reminded me of a game of tic-tac-toe...

#4
For my card, I wanted to recreate a repeat like the one in this ad

And the card~ Notice that the middle heart actually says "heart"...
It was a fabulous coincidence that it just happened to cut that way!

#5
For this last project I took the color palette from this ad and decorated two large clothes pins.

Thanks again to Paige and American Crafts for this exciting opportunity!!
Be sure to visit the American Crafts blog for more ad inspiration this week!
