I started with a 12x12 piece of canvas (Canvas Corp) for the background. I used the red gelato by Faber-Castell to color a random pattern on the entire outside portion of the canvas. I then "painted" over the red gelato parts with water only to give it a softer look. After the canvas was dry, I used brown distress ink and an ink blending tool (Ranger) to fill in the spots that I originally had not colored. Gelatos are easy and fun~ Here is how use them...
1. I colored on the canvas
2. And then painted over it with water. Easy!
And I also want to show you how to include your scrapbooking papers into mixed media as well~
1. Using a stencil, add paint to your patterned paper.
2. Let the paint dry.
3. Using an ink blending tool and distress ink, lightly ink over the painted portion.
4. Add stamped images or rub-ons. Enjoy!
I hope I have inspired you to get messy on your next layout! Until next time...
