Good morning! I am excited to share my project that I made using the Paper Bakery's January Mixed Media kit "Love You Deer". I was kind of nervous before I got started, but quickly learned that with mixed media you really can't mess up! If I can do it, you surely can too! And guess what? I LOVE the way it turned out! What do you think? I like how it's kind of "artsy". And I love love love the Heidi Swapp Gold Lame spray that comes in the kit~ it is FABULOUS! And I want to spray it on everything- and I mean everything!!!
First I grabbed a handful of acrylic paints that I had that matched the Studio Calico Darling Dear papers that come in the kit.
If you don't have paints, you could surely skip this part and just cover the entire canvas with the papers...
Paint the entire canvas- make sure to blend the colors into each other somewhat. Let dry.
Cut about 40 papers into 1.5" x 1.5" squares and arrange them how you would like.
I used some Mod Podge that I had to adhere the squares down.
While the canvas dries, take the circle stencil that is included and use paint to stencil on circles. You can also use the Gold Lame spray mist as well.
Spray the entire canvas with the Gold Lame spray mist. I also uncapped the mist and used the inside straw from the sprayer to drop a number of large droplets all over the canvas.
Add the heart and "&" stickers to the canvas. I love the detail that these add to the canvas!
And then add the canvas heart, the Pink Paislee Artisan Elements, and a few extra embellishments and you are all set!
You can make it as Valentine's- oriented as you would like. I like how it's still love-inspired but not all pink and girly like the usual Valentine's things are. But don't get me wrong- I still like pink and girly from time to time! ;)
Thanks for stopping by! Remember you can get your kit here!
And feel free to post any questions you may have.
