Halloween Treats

If you haven't guessed already, Halloween is my absolute favorite season! (But Christmas is a VERY close second!)  My mom loves Tic Tac candies, so I guess you could say that it was her that inspired this next project!  This too, was made using The Paper Bakery Kits September Scrapbook kit titled Haunted Trails!  I am loving this very royal Halloween paper from Authentique that is included in the kit.   Good thing Halloween is still a few weeks away~ You still have time to make some of these super cute candy holders!  All I did was score the paper so it would fold nicely around the candy box...Check it out!

Apple picking is in full swing!

Since apple picking season is in full swing here in the great ol' midwest Indiana, I want to share this layout about picking apples!  We later made apple pie- but those pics will have to wait for another layout!  Almost everything used is Jillibean Soup!  The background is from the older Hearty Barley line and some of the other is from their new Country Pumpkin Chowder line~ yummy!

I hope I have inspired you to head out to the orchard if you are close enough and enjoy a day picking apples!  Have a great day!

I usually don't like to get messy!

Hello again everyone!  Today I wanted to show you how to incorporate a little mixed media on your layout!  Don't be afraid to add canvas, paints, inks, rub-ons, etc to a layout~ getting messy can be lots of fun!  Take a look~

I started with a 12x12 piece of canvas (Canvas Corp) for the background.  I used the red gelato by Faber-Castell to color a random pattern on the entire outside portion of the canvas.  I then "painted" over the red gelato parts with water only to give it a softer look. After the canvas was dry, I used brown distress ink and an ink blending tool  (Ranger) to fill in the spots that I originally had not colored.  Gelatos are easy and fun~ Here is how use them...

1.  I colored on the canvas

 2.  And then painted over it with water.  Easy!

And I also want to show you how to include your scrapbooking papers into mixed media as well~

1.  Using a stencil, add paint to your patterned paper.
2.  Let the paint dry.
3.  Using an ink blending tool and distress ink, lightly ink over the painted portion.
4.  Add stamped images or rub-ons.  Enjoy!

I hope I have inspired you to get messy on your next layout! Until next time...

It's not too late for a cookout!

Hi everyone! I know fall is almost here, but it's not too late to sneak in a BBQ before summer disappears!  Today I am showing you a super cute cookout invitation using super cute Jillibean Soup papers. I love that the colors are so cheerful and happy! It makes me want to fire up the grill one last time!

And how about some matching cupcake toppers to go with the card, eh?

Ok, now you have to excuse me while I go start up my grill!  LOL

A Family layout

Hello everyone!  Today I wanted to share with you a layout I made using a neat technique!  I punched out a whole bunch of circles and folded up the sides to make squares.  I really love the dimension they give the page.    This layout features one of my favorites photos of my parents and I.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hope you are enjoying the great fall weather.  I am so glad Halloween is just around the corner~ I absolutely love Halloween and can't wait to make and post some Halloween scrappy goodness!
